Abha Kunj Welfare Society
Abhakunj Welfare Society has been registered as a nonprofit organization since April 22, 2017. we have been working for the Socio-Economic Development of Underprivileged Children and Youth in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Through the open sky learning classes, philanthropic services for Literacy, Health, Vocational training, Skill Development, and personality development is provided to the less privileged since 2009.
At the Open sky learning classes of Abhakunj, students are educated, empowered and provided selfless services (Philanthropic) along with the Adults of the community by conducting Literacy classes with values of life for over 588 Underprivileged children and youth each year teaching them Academics, Virtues of life, Skill & Vocational training and personality development in the various neighborhoods of Vijayanagar, Indore every day since January 2009.
Our Mission
To reach out to thousands of less privileged students across the nation and guide them to be educated with life values, become skilled, conscious citizens, and better human beings. To educate and empower the less privileged youth, children, and women and strive for their betterment and socio-economic development.
To build capacity and leadership qualities among the younger generations so that they are resourceful in the development of the nation.
To inculcate values in children and youth so that they become good citizens who live moral lives, leading their communities and doing their part to improve society so that everyone can live in peace and harmony in a diversified society. To help cultivate the spirit of services among the youths across the Nation so that they contribute their share in building a better world.
Vision
Through complete education, vocational training, and skill development, we seek to improve the lives of children and youth thus developing their capacity who in turn would contribute their part for community development, thereby reshaping society and their quality of life.
Our aim
Our aim is to guide children towards becoming responsible citizens of India, exhibiting virtues of peace and harmony. We strive to create a society where diversity is celebrated, and everyone contributes to collective progress. Through education and empowerment, we aspire to build a generation that leads with compassion, integrity, and a commitment to societal betterment.
Areas of Focus
We focus on education, health, and vocational development for children from underserved communities. Our programs aim to provide comprehensive support, ensuring holistic growth and development. By addressing these core areas, we work towards creating a foundation for lifelong learning and success.
Education
Young Children and youth are empowered through everyday Literacy program with values of life. Mothers are provided Adult literacy so that they learn the basics of reading writing and general awareness.
Skill development
Digital literacy, soft skills, grammar, spoken English , drama, dance music etc enhances the capacity among the children and youth preparing them to face life ahead.
Vocational training
Short term training for a few days to a few weeks and long term training for few month and years empowers the youth to embark on the journey of employability and sustenance this supporting their family.
Personality development
For the all round development of the students, various sessions on personality development are held time and again. The students are encouraged to participate in yoga and sports , physical fitness training, self defense and personal hygiene form a regular part of the curriculum
Guidance and Counseling sessions
For the holistic development and preparation for the employability of the students, career guidance and Counseling sessions are held frequently by expert counsellors. Timely guidance helps the students to choose the subjects of their caliber and thus helps them in their career.
Health
Health education is given a great importance at Abhakunj. Regular eye checkup, dental checkup, overall health checkup is organised for our students. Menstrual health camps and awareness sessions are regularly held for the adolescent students.
The Joy of Volunteering
Volunteering at the open sky learning classes of Abhakunj welfare society has been an eye opener for many volunteers and youths who come for internship under the student social responsibility program. The privileges they have received and the facilities with an easy life gives them a second chance to ponder on the purpose of their lives . when they meet these less privileged children who really have high aims in life but lack the resources ,guidance and privileges owing to the lack of awareness , poverty, illiteracy and unemployment of their parents , the volunteers understand their life better. Happily they serve with two fold purpose of giving back to the society and building their capacity this transforming themselves.
Our Impact
Hundreds of our students have progressed to top colleges and universities, breaking the cycle of poverty and contributing back to their communities. Our impact is reflected in the success stories of our students who have achieved academic excellence and personal growth. Their achievements inspire us to continue our mission with renewed vigor and dedication.
